Tomorrow’s the big day for participants in this year’s Bangers and Cash rally, the UK’s first art on tour banger event.

Organised by Roundabout, a Sheffield-based charity which raises money to help end youth homelessness and provides support vulnerable young people in the city, it will see 21 teams set off on a four-day journey from Meadowhall to Monte Carlo in a car worth less than £650. There will be a series of challenges along the way and each team has given their car a unique makeover.

Team Heist’s banger with artwork from Trik 09

Team Heist from Heist Craft in Clowne pulled up outside the Exposed office earlier today, showing off their banger decorated with the work of local artist Trik 09 and sponsored by local businesses such as O’Hara’s Spiced Rum, Smo.Fo, Belgrave Motors and Yorkshire Crisps. After the rally the bonnets will return to Sheffield where they will be auctioned to raise further funds.

Dan of Team Heist told Exposed: “We’re happy to be involved with a good cause and are looking forward to setting off on the rally now. There are 1,300 miles to cover so it’s a long way, but it should be good fun!”
