Born from a historic Edwardian Nuts & Bolts factory for the bridge and shipping industry, Yellow Arch Studios have represented the pinnacle of musical prowess here in Sheffield and beyond for two impressive decades.
The archetypal yellow bricks are suitably recognised as the fatherland of the world-class Arctic Monkeys, and they’ve produced albums by a diverse array of iconic Sheff’ ledges including Jarvis Cocker, Duane Eddy, and Richard Hawley.
This year, the studios will be celebrating a milestone birthday, marking twenty years since the original Team brought the building back to life from rack and ruin. How are they celebrating? Yellow Arch will be releasing a mini documentary honouring their mammoth musical legacy.
HERE IT IS
Spencer Edwins, Yellow Arch Promotions and Marketing Manager, told Exposed: “After 20 years of musical creativity blossoming in Yellow Arch Studios, we felt it was the right time for us to create a visual documentation of what we do. The film touches on the build, which could have been a documentary in its own right and then delves into some of the most memorable parts of the past two decades. A massive thanks to everyone who’s been part of our journey so far, we look forward to many more years of musical madness!”
In-keeping with the Studios’ championing of tuneful talent, they will be hosting two not-to-be-missed events later this month. Each event will pay homage to Yellow Arch’s transformation from a rehearsals and recording studio to a fully-fledged multi-room music venue.
On Friday 15th December catch some of the biggest names on the reggae and jungle scenes. Headlining Dub Shack x Wild Live – Seasonal Shell Down from Britain’s home-grown reggae scene is YT, as well as the likes of the iconic Daddy Freddy, Junglist Alliance, and many more.

Featuring Channel Once Sound System, K.O.G, and many more, there’ll be multiple genres across multiple rooms, in-keeping with the ‘global’ theme of the night.
