Following the success of last year’s maiden voyage, Saltstock 2018 is back with another superb live music offering to raise money for junior marching band Concord All-Stars
The charity event which brings together six legendary local bands, raised £2000 for the project last year – a total they will be looking to smash this year.
Headlining a bill of impressive talent will be none other than former Simply Red bassis, and Aaron Keith Stewart, former singer with the three-time Grammy Award winning group The Sounds of Blackness. The titans will join forces with Sheff’s favourite jazz pianist Ralph Salt to raise funds for the registered educational charity.
Ralph himself told Exposed: ‘It’s great to put the event back on again to raise funds for the band. Concord is a fantastic organisation established for over 30 years that provides Sheffield youngsters with an education in music, movement and dance. What with government funding cuts for music and the arts there are very few opportunities for kids to learn how to play instruments within schools, and private lessons can be very expensive. Voluntary run organisations like Concord help to bridge the gap in music education and provide the next generation of Sheffield musicians.’
