The Sheffield five-piece are back for a one night reunion. Cats:For:Peru formed in 2007, in those heady days when Donald Trump was only a reality TV star, and began producing a distinctive brand of indie rock.
The band received attention for their respected gigs and soon signed to 2fly studios where, with the help of the influential local producers David Sanderson & Alan Smyth, (Arctic Monkeys, Pulp, Long Blondes), they created the album “Attack of the Pitching Machine” in 2009. This won the group their fair share of praise and led to their 2011 EP “We Had This Problem Last Winter.” By 2013, however, the band had decided to call it quits and split amicably; they still see each other regularly.
They had however talked about doing one last farewell gig, which never materialised until now. To celebrate their formation 10 years ago the band is reforming for one night at the Leadmill and performing a set of their best tracks.
Adam Follett, founder of Cats:For:Peru, said that we can expect the “classics and we’re trying something new” He also said “playing some of the tracks it’s been difficult, but some of them it’s like we’ve never been away. Though this isn’t a nostalgia trip.”
Cats:For:Peru play The Leadmill 4th November. For more information and to book tickets: leadmill.co.uk
