Cole Palmer
Chelsea’s best player last year, Cole Palmer enjoyed a breakout season in which he scored 22 goals and got 11 assists as he traded Manchester for London.
That good form has carried onto this campaign, having scored in the final of Euro 2024 for England too, despite losing the final to Spain in Berlin.
Palmer scored four first-half goals as Chelsea cruised past Brighton, and alongside Nicholas Jackson, the Blues are leading the league for goals at the time of writing.
Luis Diaz
When Luis Diaz first burst onto the scene for Liverpool, many believed the Reds had found a long-term successor for Sadio Mane. However, a big injury in the 2022/23 season left the Colombian struggling for consistency, as he missed big chances in the title race last term.
This season, we are seeing the best of Diaz under Arne Slot. The new manager has given him space to flourish at Anfield so far, and he is already close to overtaking the eight Premier League goals he scored last season. Only time will tell if he keeps it up.
Mohamed Salah
Staying on Merseyside, Mohamed Salah will want to bow out from the Premier League with one last Golden Boot, with the Egyptian King set to leave Liverpool if the Reds are unable to negotiate a new contract.
Salah is set to overtake Robbie Fowler and Jermaine Defoe this season and become the eighth-highest scorer in Premier League history. With Slot’s team on fire, he will be hoping to add at least another trophy to the cabinet before the end of the summer.
Ollie Watkins
Last season was one to remember for Ollie Watkins, as he hit 19 goals in 37 Premier League games for Aston Villa as they finished fourth.
Unai Emery put his faith in the former Brentford man, and he delivered, earning Villa a coveted spot in the Champions League while contributing for England over the summer with a late winner against the Netherlands.
Having found the net four times already this term, the 28-year-old will have to work hard to keep his shirt, with plenty of competition for places after equally impressive starts from new signing Jhon Duran and the versatile Morgan Rogers.
