December is fast approaching, which means now is an extremely good time to start thinking about what you will be doing during the festive period.

If the prospect of trailing around the Christmas markets leaves you feeling cold, read on as we pick out three unmissable events for the upcoming holiday season.

Mosconi Cup 2023 – December 6-9

Our first suggestion serves as a tasty aperitif for what is to follow as some of the best pool players in the world go head-to-head at the Mosconi Cup.

The annual tournament sees teams from Europe and the United States battle over four days for the right to call themselves the best pool team on the planet.

This year’s event at the Alexandra Palace in London is particularly special as it marks the 30th anniversary of a competition that always produces plenty of drama.

Europe defeated the US 11-7 last year to claim the title for the third successive time and take their overall series record to 15-13 with one tie.

An intriguing sub-plot to the Mosconi Cup is the rivalry between Jayson Shaw (Europe) and Shane Van Boening (US), who appear to have little time for each other.

The event runs from December 6-9 and will be broadcast exclusively by Sky Sports.

Joe Carnall & Friends Christmas Party – December 22-23

Joe Carnall Jnr’s Christmas Party has become a staple part of the Sheffield music scene since it was first staged as an acoustic gig in 2010.

Fans are in for a treat this year, with the Milburn frontman staging a two-night event at Network following the closure of the O2 Academy in the city.

Special guests in recent years have included Tom Grennan, who subsequently went on to establish himself as a hugely successful global artist.

For loyal fans of Carnall’s music, the gigs are an opportunity to enjoy some of the classics from his substantial back catalogue of indie bangers.

However, there is undoubtedly something for everyone, with Carnall guaranteed to be performing a few Christmas singalongs during the gigs.

If you can grab tickets for either gig, do not miss out. They will be truly memorable!

Leopardstown Christmas Festival – December 26-29

Located just a few miles south of Dublin city centre, Leopardstown Racecourse hosts one of the most prestigious sporting events during the festive season.

The four-day Christmas Festival features a plethora of top-class National Hunt action, which provides punters with the opportunity to end the year by bashing the bookmakers.

Visitors can also enjoy a host of live music and entertainment, making it the ideal place to get together with family or friends and have a post-Christmas party.

For anyone who fancies padding out their bankroll for wagering on the racing, there are loads of top real money online casinos in Ireland you can visit during your stay in Dublin.

As highlighted by BettingTop10 Ireland, a comparison platform for online casinos and betting sites, these offer a vast array of popular games such as slots, roulette, blackjack and more.

With high quality racing and superb casino games on tap, you would be hard pushed to find a more exciting way to spend a few days between Christmas and New Year.
