Two new businesses will soon migrate to Sheffield’s infamous Park Hill development as part of the second phase of the area’s regeneration plan.

The grade II listed iconic housing estate was bought by developers Urban Splash in 2003 who, alongside redevelopment giants Places for People, embarked on a multi phase plan, redesigning and repurposing the old council flats since 2004.

The first phase created 260 homes, 10 workspaces as well as a nursery within the walls of the derelict flats. Phase two is underway and outlines plans for close to 200 new flats and 2,500sqm of commercial space, which both companies Inform Surveying and Field plan on calling their new homes.

Established in 2015, property consultants Inform Surveying are the first in a new wave of business to set up shop in the mixed use commercial space Park Hill will host. The company was on the hunt for a new location to accommodate their growing team and to meet their commercial needs without sacrificing their proximity to the city centre.

Commenting on the move, owner and MD, Gavin Sampson, said, “As a team of property and construction professionals we were also keen to ensure our office space offered a unique feel and point of difference.

“Park Hill which had been on our horizon, quite literally, for a number of years, offered all we needed – and more. We are proud to be part of this historic building, which will now form part of our company brand to help market the business.”

The second business who are making the move to Park Hill is Field, a creative studio that works across brand, exhibitions, digital & emerging technologies and web. Joint owner and CD, Jonathan Briggs, said, “As the owners of Field, and Sheffield-ers ourselves, we jumped to be part of the rich history that is Park Hill.

“It can be very difficult for small business to find office space across the city but Park Hill both supports and harbours independents, with what they have to offer. The outlook from the office unit is incredible, with second-to-non transport and parking options, another huge plus for our team and clients.”

Urban Splash are looking forward to welcoming the new business to the development, with director Mark Latham saying, “We are extremely proud of our role in the Park Hill story so far, collaborating with world-class design partners to sensitively restore this incredible building.

“We are delighted to welcome our new commercial residents as we look forward to the future, building on the work already completed to ensure that more people can live, work and play here.”
