This year Burton Street will be hosting their 10th annual Christmas Market from 17th November.

The market opens from 11am until 4pm, so there’s plenty of time to have a mooch around the festivities and indulge in your first Christmas meal of the year.

Managing Director Clare Mappin said in the lead up to the event: “With it being our 10th year we are going all out, with more performances, more to see and more to buy so you can kick off the festive season with a bang.

There will be over 35 traders so it is a perfect time to tick off some Christmas presents as well as enjoy a fresh turkey and stuffing sandwich in the café.

There will be a newly dedicated kids space, with festive films and face painting so parents can relax in the Burton Street Bar. Kids will also be able to visit Santa in his grotto and have their picture taken in the photo booth.

There will be festive performances from Stannington Brass Band, the local school choir and guitar band, The Paint Shop Boys

The event which raises money Burton Street Foundation fundraised nearly £2500 last year. The money went towards the new Hydrotherapy Suite.

This year, Burton Street will be using the money raised to improve the technology across the site so clients can engage in more interactive learning

Ms. Mappin added that opening the site up to the public “is a great way to see all the wonderful opportunities at Burton Street!”
