The leaders of the Cardiff music scene, the Stereophonics, are coming to Sheffield in a spectacular exhibition of their rock talents to tour their brand new album Kind, out on Parlephone Records on 25 October.
The Tramlines 2018 headliners will be in Sheff on 28 February at the Fly DSA Arena for one night only. The band was formed in Wales in 1992 and has certainly stood the test of time in the twenty-seven years since their debut. Having performed at gigs across the country including Reading in 2000, Glastonbury in 2002, Oxygen in 2009 and Tramlines right here in the Steel City just last year.
They have sold over 8.5 million albums in the U.K, garnered 10 top 10 albums and even won a BRIT award. This group of lads definitely gets around, and it’s no real wonder why, their sound is relatively simple, the score and instrumentation is understated and the lyrics are sweet, unpretentious and to the point.
Their latest single ‘Bust this Town’, is a testament to this, a sombre little sonnet about two lovers fleeing their dead-end town and making for the big-city lights.
Kelly Jones, lead singer and frontman, states it’s a song about ‘escapism… It’s the opener of side two of the album, with a four on the floor beat it should be a strong resident in the upcoming tour dates.’
